“Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling . . . It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for.”

I also would like to know what you pilot son is doing and how he got there…:) My oldest son is now a sophomore Aviation major at Liberty U. in Virginia. We have homeschooled all along. It has been a wonderful journey. We have 5 children and our youngest is 7, so we have a ways to go! Thanks so much for your wonderful perspective on life. I think I still have the article "The Baby is the Lesson" stuck somewhere. I saved it during those challenging days of babies and doing a kindergarten lesson. Blessings to you and your family.
PS I'm sure I'm not the only one who is eager to know how Ammon is doing and if he has any plans for the future.
Sorry, for not finishing this by saying to you. Don't leave a one of these special children, or grandchildren that you have without giving them a great big hug. We didn't always do that and from now on, there won't be one person in our family not hugged before we leave them because you never know when that last moment will be. You have been an inspiration to me for several years. I did homeschool my youngest son who is now soon 21. I appreciated all the information and class aides you suggested and as I have grandchildren now needing these special items they will have them to learn and grow. Thank you so much. It's also great to see your family pictures.
I'm Looking at your blog and as I understand just a small amount of technology to even be on here. I thought I'd give it a try. Last Friday night we had a families worst unexpected visit. Two Highway Patrol Officers they wanted us to sit down. They brought the worst news parents could have. Our daughter, Allison, our son-in-law, Aaron, and our granddaughter, Brielle were in a head on collision with a drunk driver near Jamestown, ND while they were on their way to a family reunion in Bismarck. All including the drunk driver were killed at the scene. We don't have stick enough drunk driving penalties. This man had done this driving many time before and didn't get help to correct his problems and now our family, our community and our state have lost much by the deaths of our talented, kind, loving, caring, well respected loved ones. There were about a 1,000 people at the prayer service and funeral combined. How and who can we make it known to that we need to do more to stop people from making the wrong choices where their so called happiness times will become a whole communities mourning. Allison's father was interviewed several times about this accident and the bright hope that came from it as the Lions Eye Bank received our granddaughters, our daughters, and our son-in-laws eyes to brighten someone other lives. The Forum newspaper, in Fargo, where Allison had worked arranged and sent up 50 white balloons and one pink balloon in rememberance of Allison, Aaron, and Brielle Deutscher from West Fargo, ND.
Such a Wonderful quote!

Hi Diane, I have been a costumer of yours for years, when you still had all your kids at home. Now I can't believe how many grandchildren you have. I have gone to your store in Salem and it is one of my favorite places to go shopping, I even met your daughter Emily one day there. I have a personal question regarding homeschooling the high school years. My oldest is 14. I didn't find an email address where to send you the question. I really need someone with experience to help me in this one. Please let me know the best way to contact you. Thanks!
I am becoming a life coach, am a christian homeschool mom, grandmom and wife to a pastor. I have been working out of a secular book written by a friend on time and I love the book. As I was contemplating time this eve, I checked my emails on my husband's computer, and found this little blurp from you. Love it, and somehow will add it to my journal writing on "time" the Lord's way:)
Who wouldn't want to spend all their time with those cute kiddos?
Thanks for the quote. It's refreshing to have an example such as yours which places *high* value on the calling of motherhood…and the 'promotion' that is grandmotherhood :^)
I'll have to remember that quote the next time I am asked what I am going to "do" once my children "grow up".
Thank you for sharing! Every time I think that I'm suppose to be doing more elsewhere or suppose to be doing more outside of my home, I realize that God has called me where I already am. What a great reminder!
Great quote. Sweet picture. Thank you.

My heart goes out to you! What would we do without our faith? Life can be so challenging. God bless you.
Diane
